On July 6, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released data showing that the global manufacturing PMI in June 2025 was 49.5%, up 0.3 percentage points from May, rising for 2 consecutive months, but still below 50%.

China Logistics Information Center analyst Wu Wei told the “Securities Daily” reporter that the comprehensive index changes in June 2025, the global manufacturing industry is still running in the contraction zone, but the index rose slightly for a consecutive month means that the recovery of the global manufacturing industry has improved. During the suspension of the U.S. tariff increase policy, the world's countries to accelerate the economic recovery willingness is stronger. Sub-regionally, the Asian manufacturing industry is running in the expansion range, and is still an important supporting force for the stable recovery of the global economy; the Americas, Africa and Europe manufacturing industry are all in the contraction range, but the strength of the recovery has risen to varying degrees compared with that of May.

Wu Wei believes that in the global economic and trade environment is uncertain and geopolitical conflicts continue to exist under the influence of the global economic recovery is still facing downward pressure. The World Bank's latest “Global Economic Prospects” report will 2025 global economic growth is expected to be cut from 2.7% in January this year to 2.3%. The uncertainty of the future has become the basic consensus reached by countries around the world in discussing the path of economic recovery. In the face of uncertainty, strengthening multilateral cooperation and consolidating the foundation of global market demand is a certain direction to guarantee a stable recovery of the global economy. It is also certain that the development path of globalization may be adjusted due to the impact of many uncertainties, but the general direction of development through globalization with the connotations of universality, inclusiveness and innovation will not change.

Manufacturing in Europe, Americas stays in contraction zone. The data show that in June 2025, the PMI for manufacturing in the Americas was 48.6%, up 0.2 percentage points from May, and below 49% for the fourth consecutive month, indicating that manufacturing in the Americas stays in the contraction zone, with a weaker recovery.

ISM report shows that in June 2025, the U.S. manufacturing PMI was 49%, up 0.5 percentage points from 5 months, ending the trend of 4 consecutive months of decline in the chain, 4 consecutive months below 50%. The European manufacturing PMI stood at 48.8%, a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points from May, and a slight increase for the sixth consecutive month, but the index level still did not break 49%.

Asia, Africa's manufacturing recovery strength has improved. Data show that the Asian manufacturing PMI in June was 50.7%, up 0.3 percentage points from May. And it is worth noting that in June 2025, Africa's manufacturing PMI was 49.7%, up 1 percentage point from May, ending the trend of 2 consecutive months of sequential decline, but still below 50%.

In a future full of uncertainty, countries around the globe should actively seek ways to resume economic development and endeavor to explore win-win cooperation among nations, not only in manufacturing but also in all aspects of life.
